Mission Statement

The Center for Cultural Engagement (CCE) transforms the Catholic University of America into a community in which every person's gifts are valued, enriched, and empowered. 

Vision Statement

The Center for Cultural Engagement plays a prominent role in the recruitment, retention, and graduation of Catholic University students from minority backgrounds. The CCE creates an environment where students can explore their own identity, become more confident in themselves, and find their place and purpose at Catholic University and beyond. The CCE plays a significant role in the learning and development of traditionally under-served students; while serving as an institutional advocate for their overall success. The CCE is a recognized and respected partner in the development of comprehensive academic support and accompaniment of minority students on campus. The CCE builds strong networks that connect the university with other local and regional partners invested in the success of minority students, their families and communities. 

Strategic Goals 

• GOAL 1: Enhance the on-campus experience for all students, by providing strategic, intentional, and comprehensive support to traditionally underserved students.
• GOAL 2: Support the university's efforts to increase the diversity of its student population.
• GOAL 3: Impact the university's efforts to increase the retention and graduation rates of students from underrepresented/minority backgrounds.
